Thank you all so much for the information! I currently live in the Cayman Islands, so I don't have access to any LDS centres. But we are planning a move to Denver within the next few months and I should be able to look for something then. I found out her mother's maiden name is Oxley (that was on Olive's death records - she died in California in 1981). But I don't know any more than that. I have a few other family members to research who were born in Barbados (SQUIRES), so maybe the LDS records will help me with those too. I have spoken to the General Registrar in Barbados about my Squires family members, and they were kind enough to look up information for me while I was on hold! They gave me everything they had. I will probably end up ordering some of the certificates from them. I haven't yet asked them about Olive Gittens though. Does anyone know where I could find immigration records (to find out when she moved to Trinidad)? I know there are registers of ships on Ancestry.com, but as far as I can tell, they were all going to NY. Thanks again for all the info! Cindy
Cindy, I may have some information if I can confirm any her sister's first name. Was there one that began with a "C"?
