It had some plantations shown with names of owners. A 1767 annotated map by Beck showed all plantations and owners names. Dan Hopkins at the University of Missouri at Kansas City has a site regarding the cartography of St. Croix at http://cas.umkc.edu/StCroix/. Much useful info but unfortunately the project has been dormant for some time. I am trying to trace the histories of Spanishtown, Clifton Hill, Barrenspot, Parasol as they are known to have been owned by Markoes. What I am hoping to determine is who was the first St. Croix Markoe and when. I know that in 1718 a Peter Markoe at Spanishtown Virgin Gorda signed a petition to Gov Hamilton of the Leeward Islands requesting permission to settle on St. Croix but I don't iknow what became of the request. From about 1695 to 1733 St Croix was more-or- less abandoned by the French and many people "squatted" there - perhaps a Markoe among them. I have seen some "Google" book-search snippits of the Geographic Dictionary and as I recall it did show some plantation names and owners but from what period or how detailed it's hard to say.
