Perhaps becuase by Jamaica standards Weatherman/Wedderman is a bit uncommon, now i knew a Joe weatherman not sure of the spelling, In Canada from Jamaica not the Joe you mentioned as he was certainly a bit younger than that, I know he was a workingman at the time of the "Kendal Crash" 1950's, now that put him in the parish, he related that he either went to the crash or was not seriously hurt, but wiorked on the railway.
