Richard , There is a Preface in the copies of "Caribbeana " in the reprinted copies done by James Lynch in 2000 . This Preface id done by John Titford M.A. , Mes L. , L.H.G. and gives some info on V.L. Oliver . Have you seen this Preface ? If you have not let me know and I will send you a copy .
