    3. Hello Marg. I am pretty sure that the reference is to Barbarees Hill in St. Michael. It is my belief that the area is named after a family which is in Barbados from at least 1690, the first seemingly a John BARBARIE, though the spelling evolved over time. All BMD records up to 1930 have been microfilmed, and the films can be viewed at any LDS Family History Centre. Anything after 1930 would be at the Registry Department. If you can get to a Family History Centre you should be able to search the microfilm records yourself for the parents as their birth records should be on microfilm, now that you know the 2 parishes to concentrate on. Their marriage though may be after 1930 and that would most likely be at the Registry. Make sure to check the variant spellings of McClean, McCleen etc. Unfortunately I have nothing on either of them. I checked Lynch burials on the Barbados tombstones website and can find nothing that matches. Good luck with your search. Hello List I have left my earlier postings below, and have made some advances in my 1research, which (naturally!!) leads to more questions. Question 1: Barbys Hill? Barbies Hill?? I have scoured the Google map for Barbados, but have had no luck! Maybe its name has changed?? Question 2: Where would birth, death and marriage records between 1928 and 1942 be held please?? I am I correct in saying these dates are on the "cusp" and some would be at the Barbados Registration Department and some would be at the Barbados Department of Archives? The parents of the gentleman in my earlier enquiry (born in 1937) were Stanley Beresford LYNCH born in (the parish of ??) Christchurch and Miriam Arnester LYNCH, formerly McLEAN, born Barbys Hill. I am not sure of the correct spelling of this location, or the middle name Arnester. Stanley LYNCH (also known as Leonard LYNCH) was a mason by profession. Miriam LYNCH died about 1942. I have not had any success with telephoning the Barbados Registration Department, but once I sort out the place names above I'll try again, in writing, hopefully with more success, and have also sent an email enquiry to the Barbados Department of Archives, meanwhile any ideas and assistance would be very welcome. Many thanks Marg Smith Mardi, NSW Australia
