    3. Richard I should certainly be interested in your information. Captain Christopher Jeaffreson (d. 1 August 1725, Dullingham House, Cambridgeshire) was the son of Colonel John Jeaffreson, one of the three partners who established the English colony on St Kitts, the first permanent one in the West Indies. Christopher spent just five years on his estate there (I have visited the area twice), as a very active sugar-planter, merchant and politician, but after his return to England he acted as the Colony's Commissioner He also became the political agent to Sir William Stapleton, the Captain-General of the Leeward Islands, who incidentally was responsible for the transfer of Tortola from Dutch to British rule. One of Jeaffreson's descendants was elected to be US President Thomas Jefferson Peter Moll Tortola, BVI Richard Oliver <richard@darcyeverest.co.uk> wrote 11 June 2010: > I have some onformation on Christopher Jeaffreson d 1725 who had a > connection with St Kitts. > Any interest in further info?
