Hello Barb: Many thanks for all your links and suggestions. Yes, I've seen these items. Apparently, after Elisha's wife died he married in his later years to a distant relative who looked after him for the rest of his days - so says the Rev. Harris in his obituary of Elisha. I have looked all over to try to find out who Sophia was - so far no luck, but then I haven't searched all his cousins to find out if they have a Sophia in their lines. And yes, I've seen all these links and have gleaned bits and pieces about Elisha's life. Thanks for taking the trouble to put this all together. Much appreciated.
