    3. Although the book you asked about is out of print, it is available for consultation at some libraries in North America. I was able to use it awhile ago by inter-library loan through my local public library. Ideally, put together all the publication info you have and go talk to the librarian, usually in History or Government sections. I think the copy I used came from Univ. of FL. I had to pay a fee to the lending library, but it was minimal. Good luck, Tian Dick in Princeton, NJ wrote: > I am still looking for "Sainte Lucie: Fille de la Martinique" by > Eugène and Raymond Bruneau-Latouche.

    3. This may be too specific for many, however, spent today roaming the Hell's Kitchen/Clinton area & the 9th Avenue food festival. I was tracking down specific locations given by my grandmother & other family from Barbados on Ellis Island records. Should anyone have any connections to 400 block W 46 & 47th Streets, the 300 block W 44th, the low 600's on 9th Avenue, or uptown the 400 block E 65th street and would like a picture of the area, let me know. For those with Anglican roots in the area, also have pics of St. Clement's Episcopal church on W 46th (now still a church, but also a theatre - an outreach theatre district mission of St. Thomas Episcopal church). For any "early" (we were asking about 1907-9)Anglican/ Episcopal records in Manhattan, we were told they are kept at the diocese located at the Cathedral of St John -- 1047 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10025 212-316-7400 F: 212-316-7405 Lisa

    3. Lenore, I usually figure 2 to one, though it's really less ( 2$ to a L). I downloaded 2 (boy was it hard to read the script!) They are in PDF form, which means if you have downloaded the free Acrobat Reader, they will open in it & you can read them, print them & also save them to a folder in your hardrive. I used Visa online, the access was almost instant & remains open for 7 days for you to do with it as you will :+) Lisa

    3. I wonder of Sir Anthony deFreitas if his title might not have been as "Consul" rather than "Ambassador" in that British insular colonies like Barbados had no diplomatic relations with anywhere before the 1960s.

    3. Hi Marge, It would be more helpful if you cited dates and your sources. Thanks. Richard ------Original Message-------- Researching the family of Tanjore Trelawney Haynes HENRY Sr. and wife Adelaide louisa Smithwick CLARKE. They had a son Tanjore Jr. who married Julia Frances HASKELL. His record states he was born in St Michael, Barbados, British West Indies and I have his date of birth and baptism. The record states his parents were also born the Barbados. Tanjore Senior's father was Samuel Trelawney HENRY and that is all I know. Adelaide is the daughter of William CLARKE and Mary James. I am unfamiliar with research in the Barbados and would appreciate any advice or help. Where would I begin the search for information on Tanjore senior and his wife. An elderly relative recalls that Tanjore Jr had a brother, but cannot recall his name. Thank you Marge PERRY On a warm, bright ,sunny Southern CA afternoon.

    2. Hi Philippe, Many thanks for your quick response. I think the "tables décennales" are the civic / state records (rather than Church records), is this correct? I looked on the family search web site and found thousands of records for films related to "tables décennales". Could you guide me a little further please? Where do I find the references to the films of the "tables décennales" where I can search to order the correct one from the LDS? Is there anywhere else that I should be looking? Thanks in advance, Penny

Bonjour, Phillippe ---------- RossignolP wrote: > Do you refer to "Personnes et familles à la Martinique au XVIIe siècle" by > Jacques Petitjean-Roget et Eugène Bruneau Latouche ? > N! means the first name is unknown. --------- Merci- that is indeed the book. "Flamand," then, would not be the prenom, but would indicate that M. BERNES is Flemish: is that correct? By the way, fellow listers, "Personnes..." has proven to be an invaluable resource and though not inexpensive, was well worth the investment (two volumes for 48,78 Euros & 24,35 Euros for air mail shipment). While much (if not all) of the information is available in FHL films, the authors have indexed the names and have freed us from laboring over some data difficult to discern, whether due to the state of the original source, atrocious handwriting, or the quality of the film. I obtained my copies from Hubert de Langle at Mémoire & Documents in Marsailles (memodoc.com/email: memodoc@wanadoo.fr.) I am still looking for "Sainte Lucie: Fille de la Martinique" by Eugène and Raymond Bruneau-Latouche. The book is out of print and M. de Langle was unable to obtain a copy, even from the authors. If anyone has knowledge of an available copy, new or used, please let me know. Regards, Dick in Princeton, NJ
