    3. Hi Heather, Thanks for the input. I was more interested in spreading preventative computer practices in regard to viruses, rather than bashing either ISPs which do not install anti-virus shields, or implicating companies which produce anti-virus soft-ware. Richard --------------------------------- I have already fought with Sprint over this very question......many times. They cite 'freedom of speech' and all that jazz. If the truth were known, it is expensive to put antivirus programs on huge ISP's but a lot of the smaller ones have done so. And their point is that it may be an *.exe which is an important business document and they would get their pants sued off......which IS a valid point. And NO.......antivirus companies do not employ virus writers. And they do not try to panic the world by putting out warnings. These are two things that crop up time and time again on the antivirus news group. I am merely pointing this out in case someone *misreads* your comments about the antivirus companies. Sometimes a fast-moving virus just fizzles out......but we have to send the warnings out just in case. Heather.

    3. Thanks Ernest.......I have received several warnings from the antivirus companies.......but I hate to keep warning about viruses as sometimes they fizzle out. This one is NOT doing so........so do be careful. And I have received at least 200 of those durned Microsoft patches in Hotmail......I never use my address on news groups, but use a Hotmail one. I think that is where these are coming from. Just trying out some new defensive techniques. 3. I got the micro-soft one to-day. I deleted it without thinking or checking since as a rule I delete all mail that have attachments from people I do not know or expect to write. I also check properties of any attachment to see if it has .exe. from people I do know and expect to write. I also delete anything that purports to come from Micro-soft. I also have a weekly virus report on developing viruses and scan the names and endings or formats or subject headings that they use, in the hope that it will ring a bell some-time in the future. If I am still not sure, I send it to a website that has a good anti-virus shield and it usually bounces saying that there is a vrus and what it is. Why don't all ISPs have the same anti-virus shield? If they did maybe no-one will buy the anti-virus programs. I hope this helps others. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ernest M. 2. Richard Allicock
    3. Hi Ann, Here's the link to the PRO page. The page itself might not open, but in the Search Catalog window type Ship AND Ticket. I must correct an earlier email, where Ivan thought the Tickets came down to the present. He has corrected that impression, and the page shows that the records come to about 1857-1860, although the Officers Records go to 1965. So there's Merchant Seamen Officers Records, 1845-1965; Merchant Seamen Registers of Service, 1835-1857; Merchant Shipping Crew Lists and Agreements, 1747-1860. I also hope that it may attract some attention from some-one in Germany, close to Herrnhutt. Some-one closer may also have access to the Journal below. You are welcome to come and have a look at them (most of the material is in German and written in German script!). In our library we have a large collection of books about Moravian missions. I am looking for records of the Moravian Church missions in the Caribbean. These missions began in the early 1700's, and also extended to South and Central America. Please advise me on whether the Bibliothek has any such records, or any information on where such records can be found. You do know there are Hazells and Adams on Union? All of course related to Ollivierres.
