I regret to inform the list that I am unable to continue to maintain the list or the World Gen Web Caribbean Web site. I took on the project with the best of intentions several years ago. However several changes in my life have left me with very little personal time for myself or anything else. I do not want to see the list or the site continue to go unattended, and I am unable to give it my full attention. If there is anyone that wants to manage the list, please let me know. As far as managing the Caribbean WorldGenWeb site, I believe that person has to first be approved by the owners of the WorldGenWeb (you will be notified via e-mail of your acceptance). Laura, Philip, Nevilla et al (et Cod) I was poking about on Nigel Batty-Smith's website where he has a copy of the Visitation of Dorset 1623. My Irish family claimed to be from there - I think a lot of early settlers came from Bristol Somerset Dorset etc. Our Irish don't even get a mention in Those Disclaymed to be Gentlemen. If you have a look at this page <http://www.ukgenealogyarchives.org.uk/england/Dorset/visitations/p56.html > it gives little trees for two Grey or Gray families and one uses the Christian name Angell which could be just another surname or a variant of Anquetil. Back then I guess even gents might have dodged being Angel to friends and family aside from the nearest and dearest of course! Maybe just another straw in the wind. cheers David On Jan 11, 2008, at 1:51 PM, [email protected] wrote: >> David, Philip, Nevilla, et al: >> >> I found a 190-page document entitled "Descendants of Bernard "The >> Dane," and on page 132, it had this to say: >> snip >> No mention of Gray in this file. Rita, you can see what the LDS Church has microfilmed for St. Vincent and the Grenedines by doing a place search on the Family History Library Catalog on http://www.familysearch.org . That will give you a list of what they already have done and that you can order in any Family History Centre. I don't know how you would find a list of what they are planning to film. Good luck in your research. Hi folks: For those of you who enquired about the FamilySearch indexing project -- i.e. for digitization, Dick Eastman has a post on his online genealogy newsletter which tells all about how to volunteer, where the project is at, etc. Please take a look at http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2008/01/familysearch-in.html Dorothy
Listers, A few years ago, I compiled a list of all the Caribbean information on microfilm that the Mormons/LDS have by Island. It is posted at Candoo.com, (Jim, correct me if the url is wrong). You can save some time by knowing what the film # is when you go to the library.I have not used the library or search on line, lately, however the site for the Mormons/LDS is www.Familysearch.org.. Most of the islands have been filmed. Note. the agreement was, by giving permission to film the records, a copy of everything filmed was left in the respective island. If you are in the Caribbean your island should have a copy in your library. If you are stateside, there are Family History Libraries everywhere. Hope this takes come of the confusion out of the microfilm search."Sharing the information."Researching the USVI, St.Eustatius, St. Barths, Barbados> Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 06:02:15 -0800> From: [email protected]> Subject: Mormon List> To: [email protected]> > How does one access the Mormon list. I posted that one. I don't have the contact details on me, as I am at work. But as soon as I get home this evening, I will post them.
Can Anyone out there point me in the right direction. I'm wanting to make a link between Celestian Kemp of St Croix and his son John who I believe was born in 1841. By 1891 John was in Liverpool England. Married with children but believed to have been born in Virgin Islands. I am becoming increasingly frustrated as i cannot make links between these two people. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks for any info. Linda _________________________________________________________________ Telly addicts unite! http://www.searchgamesbox.com/tvtown.shtml

I will try to post those names today or tomorrow. Cathy
Sorry that I can't be of help. I am also looking for some links in my genealogy but unfortunately I'm searching for the Franceschini Maldonado, also for the Irizarry Franceschini they all came in the same boat from Corsica in the early 1800. **************Start the year off right. This is great!! Cathy A? Are you the same Cathy that Shannon and Ed speak so fondly of? I am researching surnames: LaMotte, LaMothe, De LaMotte, De LaMothe, Belfon and Alexander. I met Shannon her, lovely husband and beautiful baby when they came to NY this weekend . What a great time we had. Chatted with Ed about it last night. Shannon met several cuzins'(Norma , Dunbar, Giselle and Jessie, Jamil and baby Malika and spoke with Aunt Muriel LaMotte (94 years young) on the phone (she resides in Canada ) We ate, took pictures, ate so more and went over some of our charts. I am sooo inspired to see two of our younger male cuzins' inquiring about the charts and asking questions.... our Ancestors are working hard here. I would love to see your research.
