Hi List, I found an ancestor of mine, on the 1880 Census in Towles Mills, Placer County, California. His name was Edward Bush (b. abt 1840 in Ohio). The Census was only 4 pages long and had many Chinese or Japanese names, most listed as partners and working as laborers. Edward Bush was a machinist on the Census. Can anyone fill me in on what was Towles Mills? Can someone tell me if it was a mine or textile factory. Have a great day, Charlie Keller
