This site has great people on it also. I am looking through some of my Anson Co., NC books and will let you decide whether or not the following is a keeper or not. In my ANSON COUNTY,NC ABSTRACTS OF EARLY RECORDS, there is, on page 138, Oct. 23, 1783, a petition was circulated to fix a new place for a courthouse, and a William Booth signed it.
