    3. Ginger, Here is a little bit of information which involves James McNaughton. It is from my book, SCATTERED SEED - Genealogical Research Data of Southeastern North Carolina. 1800 July Administrator, Daniel Campbell held the estate sale of the deceased Alexander Campbell in July 1800. He purchased one watch, a pair of taylors sheers, one heifer and a cow & calf, a bible, and divers articles. Angus Campbell purchased a saylors coat. Murdoch Campbell purchased a heifer, a blanket and a thimble, and John Campbell purchased a shirt and a hat and divers articles. An account left proved by the said Alexander Campbell, deceased, shows John Buie for Duncan £5:50, Sarah Buie £5:50, Archibald Paterson £1:13, John McDonald £1:1, Angus Shaw and Donald Shaw £1:12, Gideon Kirksey £0:10. Accounts found on the books of the said Campbell show Jenet Smith £0:4, JAMES McNAUGHTON £1:0, John McNeill, £0:14, Murdoch McCrane £0:10, Malcom Smith £0:14, Neill Smith £0:12, Archibald Carmichael £0:10, Archibald McCrane £0:10, Angus Campbell £0:17, Archibald Smith, £0:10 and Catherine Smith £0:10. A notation reads: Some of the above accounts are disputed, some of the parties having moved away. Others insolvent and some of them out of date. Signed by Daniel Campbell.
