Please help! Our family reunion hopes to include a Kirkin' of the Tartans at the church service prior to our reunion, Sunday, Oct. 17. We are in desperate need of a piper! Unfortunately, this is the same weekend as the Stone Mountain Games, so the St. Andrews Pipe Band is unavailable and seem to be taking most of the known local pipers with them. Ideally, we would like someone who can play a few tunes outside the church before the service (starting about 10:45), pipe the tartan in and out of the church and then maybe play a few tunes during the family reunion. Talent (or lack thereof) is not an issue. If you can make it through Amazing Grace, you'll do! We're just a poor bunch of Scots, so we can't offer a big stipend, but we can offer you and your family an old fashion Sunday dinner-on-the-grounds, the likes of which you've not seen in years! The reunion is held Oct. 17 at the Bensalem Presbyterian Church in western Moore County. It's about 30 minutes west of Southern Pines and about 10 minutes east of US Hwy. 220. Anyone who can help, or who can refer a piper to us, will be greatly appreciated. Rick Monroe, president Monroe Family Reunion rickmonroe@USiway.net
