I recently found your list and hope one of your listers can help me. I am searching for parents of my gr gr grandfather, JOHN FRANK REYNOLDS, born about 1829-1837 at New Bern, NC. His place of birth was taken from the death certificate of my gr grandmother. I wrote to the Eastern NC Genealogy Society in New Bern and a kind lady checked their records but found nothing. 1880 census list his father born in Scotland and mother born in VA. FRANK REYNOLDS married SALLY ELIZABETH FLETCHER, born about 1839, daughter of Charles Fletcher and Esther Harrison of Cobb Island, VA, a barrier island in Northampton County, VA. FRANK REYNOLDS is shown living on Cobb Island in 1860, '70 & '80 census and his occupation as sailor. Frank and Sally had the following children all born at Cobb Island, VA: Esther M. b. 1859 d. before 1870 James H. b. 1860 d. before 1870 Amanda Smith Reynolds b. 17 Feb 1865 d. 27 Feb. 1951 George b. 1865 Mary Esther b. 1868 d. 1955 Elizabeth Lou b. 15 Feb 1870 10 Mar 1948 Josephine b. 1872 Laura L. b. 1875 d. 1943 I have much more information on all the children. FRANK & SALLY REYNOLDS are buried at Cape Charles Cemetery at Cape Charles, VA. One more interesting fact, Frank Reynolds had a granddaughter named "Kate Montague" Isdell, who was the daughter of Elizabeth Lou Reynolds and George Isdell. I believe the Isdells' are Scottish also, but I have their line back to the 1600's and there isn't a Montague anywhere to be found. I am not sure if New Bern is in the Cape Fear area but possibly they could have come in and moved north. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Faye Smith
