Guess you all know there was a Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs, NC (Robeson County). Think the college actually started at the location of Centre Church between Red Springs and Maxton. My great, great Grandfather, John Hughes, is buried at Centre Church. We think his father was probably Daniel Hughes from what was then Richmond County (part of which I think is now Scotland County in the Centre Church area).
