I would appreciate any information about Magness (Magnus) MacDonald who fought in the Revolution as a member of the North Carolina Militia, notably in the Battle of Kings Mountain. I think he was a member of the Kings Mountain Militia. As a result he was awarded 640 acres in Davidson County, Tennessee and went there in 1791. I can document him very well from that point on but can't find anything about his origins or life in Carolina. Interestingly enough, after claiming his land, he took the name of MacDaniel for several years before reverting to MacDonald. I will be happy to share what I have with any interested parties.
