    3. I am a descendant of Neal McLeod who arrived in North Carolina with the 1774 wave. I have not yet pinpointed the location of his homestead, but supposed to be in the upper Cape Fear River area. One report has it in what is now Sampson County. Most of what I know about my Neal and all those who descended is in the Ophelia McLeod Wright publication of 1961. His descendants were mostly in Georgia and Alabama. I am descended from his youngest son, Malcolm (2-29-1785/9-15-1872) who settled in Decatur, Georgia. He was married to Rebecca Rooks. I am seeking information on Neal the progenitor, because the line stops with him so far.
