Hello Beverly, You might want to check the 1779 Census taken for the Duke of Argyll of all the holdings under the Duke at that time. You will probably find a number of your McArthurs and their locations. There are also a number of Smiths buried at the Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church who came from North Knapdale, Argyllshire. Look for the tombstones which are exceptionally bright white. Thanks John Lester
