Sarah Jane Graham is my direct relative. 1850 Census Cumberland Co NC HOH Graham, Sarah age 60 Graham, Catherine age 38 Graham, Anne age 32 Graham, Sarah J age 12 1860 Census Cumberland Co NC HOH Smith, Catherine G. age 47 Smith, Anne G. age 42 Messer, DA age 27 Messer, Sarah J. age 22 1870 Census Cumberland Co NC HOH Smith, Anne G. age 52 Smith, Catherine age 57 Sarah and DA Messer were living in their own house by 1870. My question has been, which sister, Anne or Catherine was the mother of Sarah J.Graham. Which ever one it was , was she never married? Any clues would be appreicated.
