1. McCranie book
2. Can anyone out there tell me where I can find the book,"McCranie"? This book is about the early Scottish settlers in North Carolina and was written by Anthony McCranie. There is no publisher listed which leads me to believe it must have been published by the author. My grandmother was a McCranie and I would really like to find this book. I think it was pjublished in 1976. All help appreciated. e-mail gfjer737@aol.com

This is about the McCranie/McCraney families from Scotland. They were in North Carolina in the late seventeen hundreds. Some of this family went to South Carolina and some on to Mississippi. 1. Re: McDougalds
2. McDougalds were an early family here in Robeson Co NC. In the early years (1803-1820) some stayed, but many, as did many other "Mac" moved southwards into SC & GA, and then westward into the Mississippi Territory. Sam West Lumberton, NC

1. a public thanks
2. Greetings from St. Louis, MO. A couple of weeks ago there was mention of the Argyll Colony Plus publication. Through PERSI, I found a few articles that sounded worthwhile to look at. I sent a request for a look-up to this list and JuraMcNeil@aol.com volunteered. Within 3 days, I had scanned images waiting for me. I just wanted to publicly state my thanks and appreciation. I would be waiting until June if I had written to Fort Wayne! Sue Johnson from early 1800's Cumberland County family...Archibald & Sarah McDonald's son Hugh (Civil War POW). Think Archibald's parents were also an Archibald and Sarah. Help?

1. Check out Images of Scotland
2. Hello, This is a new site which I just finished looking through. It is exceptional and extremely well done. It has about a 150 photos of Scotland and of the nature of Scotland which you would not see or would overlook if you were visiting, or at least I think you would. This site is long. It has the small photo grouping and then goes to the individual enlargement of each one. The Photography is great also. This site is worth looking at and saving. And it is something that is great on a day which you have a lot to time. Take your time and enjoy the trip to Scotland. Click here: Images of Scotland John

2. Does anyone know of an Archibald McDougal(d) who lived in Robeson Co. NC in the late 1700's and early 1800's? He had a daughter Catherine who married John Campbell and moved to Chesterfield Co. SC and later to Chambers Co. AL. Catherine died 1846-50. He also had a daughter Margaret (b. Aug. 20, 1780) who married John McDonald and moved to Neshoba Co. MS. Margaret died Dec. 1857 and is buried at the New Carolina Presb. Church. 1. Check out Dalriada History
2. Hello, This site is exactly what it says. While reading it, it will probably not make a hill of beans sense, but, as you are reading the Gaelic wording and Gaelic names, think in terms of how the name is now or might be and it will somewhat "switch on the light" for you, or at least it did for me (Grin) Click here: Dalriada History Thanks John
