    2. My Canhams lived in Wicken, Cambridgeshire. I am back to Thomas born about 1748. I don't see any Canhams prior to that date and wonder if his parents came from Suffolk or Norfolk.     3. CANHAM is a habitation name representing a contracted form of Cavenham, Suffolk. Wicken is abt 14 miles west of Cavenham and Walsham is16 miles east.My earliest Canham is Samuel born abt 1628 and my latest is Susan born abt1686 who married Thomas Macro in 1707.Both Canhams were born in Walsham. I havent any later than this. I would think that the parents of Thomas most likely came from this part of Suffolk so I would look in that area.
