    1. Greetings to our online CANHAMs by that or any other name!
    2. I'd like to try a roll call to see where we (few) online Canhams hail from. Our family, Bud and Holly are in Orleans County, NY Our immigrants were James and Elizabeth (nee SPOONER), along with their children both minor and adult. Their son James m. Elizabeth AMOS and kids immigrated, we believe, at the same time. If your CANHAM, CANNOMs or CANIMs (variations of same family spellings we've discovered so far) came to, or passed through Orleans County we'd love to compare notes! I believe the brick wall of what ship they came on will be broken down very shortly. Keep in touch! Holly PS- Our third CANHAM ONE-NAME STUDY will be held in January here in Orleans County. Let us know if you are interested in contributing or recieving information from these meetings. Happy to share!

    2. In a message dated 3/24/00 4:41:33 PM, [email protected] writes: << CANHAMs!! Let's have a roll call- >> Hi Holly, My husband's CANHAM family came from London England. William F. Parents and Thomas Philip arrived in New York 1841-1843 (don't have the ship list in front of me at the moment). Daughters Ann Frances CANHAM b. c1843 NY and Martha W. CANHAM b. c1845 NY. Elizabeth Warren CANHAM b. 1846, George Washington CANHAM b. 1848 and Mary Jane CANHAM b. 1850 (these three born Brighton, Suffolk Co. MA. Ellen O. "Nelly" CANHAM b. c1852 MA? (Nelly married Floyd Scott), William CANHAM b. c1862 CA? Frances E. "Fanny" CANHAM b. c1864 CA? Family may have arrived in California 1856, in which case the last two children born here. CANHAM family lived in San Francisco, California. Thomas Philip CANHAM married Anne Elizabeth HOFFMAN and their son William Francis CANHAM b. 1876 San Francisco is my husband's direct ancestor. He disappeared in 1920 and I would like to "find" him and know his date and place of death. He was last known to be in the King City, Monterey County, California area. He was either separated or divorced from his wife and could possibly have had another family although I have no evidence of this. Kay in California

    1. Welcome any and all CANHAMs!! Let's have a roll call- I'll start.
    2. We are "Bud and Holly"( not to be confused with Buddy Holly- I think there's another page about him). We live in Orleans County, NY where Bud's Canham's immigrated to in 1850, from Norfolk, England. Bud's line is: James CANHAM m. Elizabeth SPOONER in Neatishead, Norfolk, England James CANHAM m. Elizabeth AMOS in Neatishead, John Henry Albert Henry Clifford John Gordon Albert "Bud". There are many Canham lines in this County. We're only begining to straighten them all out! And you know how hard it can be to straighten a Canham out ;) ! All CANHAM surname researchers are welcome to this list. Let's learn from each other and enjoy the quest! Holly
