Hi, I am new to this list. If I am asking an inappropriate question for this list please feel free to advise me,.....nicely please. Apparently in 1802 my 4 x gr grandfather Benjamin SHILLITO was appointed "Lockkeeper and Receiver of the dues". He was granted a salary of 50 guineas per annum and a house to live in by the Barnsley Canal Navigation Company. Benjamin's lock was at Agbrigg and he maintained this position until his death in 1820. Does anyone have any history on this particular lock or be able to advise me where I could write for more info. Thank you, Marg Mission, B.C., Canada
