Hi Eilleen What sort of date was your William? I've not delved too deeply into Tewkesbury's registers as yet, and so far, at least, haven't come across a Richard & Elizabeth, but I (I'd got as far as this last night before the little bell on the oven pinged, and I went downstairs to eat - and then slept... On logging-on this morning, to my total bemusement, I found the following in my inbox: "Looking at Daniel [ALLEN -my Other Correspondent's Ancestor]'s parents and siblings I wondered if Richard may be Joseph's brother. Well acc to the IGi Joseph and Mary Allen had: William 1765 Thomas 1766 Joseph 1768 William 1770 Jane 1773 Robert 1776 Molly 1778 Richard 1780 John 1783 Richard married Elizabeth Milton - does that name ring a bell on 5 March 1804 at Tewkesbury. So it looks as if it is poss that two brothers married two sisters." So it looks as if a trip to Gloucester to delve deep is called for! Will go Today... I'm afraid this is Very Disjointed - but it looks very much as if there IS a link after all. I'll try to Get Organised, and then get back to you when in a state of real coherence! Cheers, Gus Tysoe Droitwich (not a million miles from Tewkesbury where my line of TYSOEs stayed for their statutory 50 years before changing counties again...) -----Original Message----- From: Eilleen Ovenden <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: 13 March 2000 10:51 Subject: [CANAL-PEOPLE] Re: Allens >Hi Gus >Saw your note about your Allens from Tewkesbury.
