    3. Hello Laura, My Boatmen ALLENs started off at Tewkesbury, on the River Severn, halfway between Worcester & Gloucester - but they were Wide-Beam folk by and large. However, I've a 'missing' Thomas, born 1816 at Tewkesbury - and while I doubt very much if he's 'yours', it's worth a try? If ever you get over here, try for a trip on the Caldon - it's one of the most beautiful canals I know. (Despite doing it in rain - and snow - and with Insufficient rations!)
