My great grandfathers family were boatmen, as were his parents family. I have the following info so far William Wood , mate aboard the "Ellen on Twyning" in 1861 William Wood, aboard the "Speedwell" 1881 Robert Wood, aboard the "Ely" 1881 Arthur Ball, master of the "Emma" 1891 Thomas Ball, aboard the "Emma" 1891 Robert Wood, captain of the "Elizabeth" 1881 Arthur Wood, mate aboard the "Elizabeth" 1881 Robert Wood, master of the "Ernest" 1891 Robert Wood Jnr, aboard the "Ernest" 1891 My great grandfather was Robert Wood, who died in 1905 after falling into the canal and catching pneumonia. If anyone has any info on any of the before mentioned boats, or any Wood or Ball fmaily members, I would love to hear form you Regards, Zean in South Australia
