This means that there are two number '1's, two number '2's, etc up to 60. The Canal Boat Register Nottinghams register consist of two volumes, ref no NIM 1988-134 and NIM 1988-136. They are located in the Industrial museum, Wollaton Park. Cromford Canal Permits Surviving permits are located in the Derbyshire Record Office at Matlock. They cover the period 1817-1878 with some gaps. The index in the booklet only covers the years 1841/42. Good luck! Helen
