Hi Helen I wonder if you could spare the time to look-up any boat people called SMART. I have proved that they worked on boats in 1850 onwards but started in Gloucestershire and worked from there to Birmingham and Staffordshire and maybe anywhere throuhg to the 1880's. Regards Celia Bailey
