Phil, I am holding my breath here! Now the connection I have (not sure what it is yet), my great grand mother, Mary Ann Millward (nee Owen) had her first son, George in 1853 at Lower Green, Tipton. He only lived 10 days and on his death certificate the informant of the death was a Mary Ann Bridges of Lower Green, Tipton. Trying to find her on the 1851 census I found her at Alpha Terrace, Upper Green, Tipton with Nancy Bridges, widow aged 85. Her occupation was pauper boatwoman, born in Oldbury, Worcestershire. Her relationship looks like grand daughter. At 207 Upper Green there is Alfred Bridges, wife Mary and their family, Harriet, John, Mary Ann and Alfred. Two Bridges, Alice and John pop up again on the 1871 census for Birmingham. She is aged 19 and he is aged 16, both born in Tipton and his occupation is boatman. I am not sure of the relationship, but it looked like Sister in Law and brother in law. In Mary Ann Millward's will dated 1902 she lbequeaths to her neice, Rose Ann Bridges her sewing machine. Apart from these odd sightings, I have not been able to connect to any other Bridges. Mary Ann Millward was born in Coventry. Her father's name was George Owen and he was a Farrier. Have not confirmed her mother's name. That's it, that's all I know. Look forward to hearing from you.
