I am looking for any further information about Caleb GOULD (1743-1836) and his son, Joseph GOULD (1789-1871). Both men were lock keepers at Hambleden on the Thames near Henley. They lived (I believe) in the village of Rememham. After he retired Joseph migrated to Christchurch, New Zealand. Can anybody help me with where I might find company records about their appointment and/or their working lives? Any information about them would be most welcome especially if you are interest in the siblings or other relatives of either man. If any historical canal information is available on the Web I would be pleased if you could advise the site addresses because its otherwise a bit hard to come by in Tasmania, Australia.
