My great grandfather, Charles Wright, had barges on the Erie Canal. His daughter, my grandmother died in 1900 and all trace of him has been lost. I was wondering if there is a registry of these operators? I know that he took his ailing daughter and granddaughter (my mother) to New York on the canal, thinking the trip would be good for her.
