Hi Listers I am researching the area of Mirfield Canals where some of my husband's ancestors worked. Abraham ELLIS marr 1778 wife Mildred SMITH) is noted as living in Mirfield and his son William ELLIS occupation is noted as boatman/carpenter William married Elizabeth COPLEY 1816 in Mirfield and their son James ELLIS is also noted as being a boatman.
