Hi all. On the 1851 census for Hemmington,Leics, my GGGrandfather, William DAKIN was "away on boat". His daughter`s marriage certificate gives him as boatman. I have been unable to find anything further about Willam. Can anyone suggest a line of enquiry? Regards, Barrie (Notts)
