    3. I am new to the list and wondered if anyone had any information on Canal Boat people in the West Midlands from the mid 1800's to early 1900s. My GGGrandparents were Canal Boat People on the West Midlands Canals and their children were also on the boats for some years. Their names were WILLIAM HODGKINS AND SARAH (NEE DOVEY). They had ten children six of whom lived to adulthood. I have good information on four of the six, but desperately need help on their son RILEY HODGKINS who was born in April 1870 at Bourne Hills Colliery, Rowley Regis. He was with his parents on the 1871 census, but I cannot find him on the 1881 (he was not with his parents then). I have information on him from 1893 to 1915 and again in 1927 (Court Appearances) all in Wolverhampton, but do not know if he was married or when he died. I have no record of any of the family on the 1891 census. Any information would be appreciated about RILEY (who sometimes called himself William) and also any information about Bourne Hills Colliery, Rowley Regis would be interesting. WILLIAM AND SARAH HODGKINS other surviving children were all female and were Clara, Esther, Agnes (my great grandmother) Ellen and Rosina. Any information on these would also be brilliant. Many Thanks Sue Jones __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
