I am considering setting up a database of an index of canal people and allied trades on the northern canals, e.g. Lancaster, Leeds Liverpool, Bridgewater etc. I have researched my own canal family and taken details of canal families mainly from the Lancaster canal from the available censuses. I would be pleased to receive details of boatmen and their families from any source and any contributors would of course receive a free copy of anything | publish. Janet Rigby
