Hello everyone, Could someone please help me to open PDF files from internet sites. All I get in the top left of screen is a small icon which is square with red, green and blue shapes inside it. This happens everytime I come across PDF file links. I have the Acrobat Reader 5 installed, which opens all my CD's without problem. No matter what I try, it will not open this icon. I just get an error message that the file must be corrupted in some way. I get very frustrated because I miss out on such a lot of information, usually catalogues etc. Linda Briggs Linda.Briggs1@btinternet.com
Hello Linda What often works if you have difficulty opening a PDF file within your browser is: Right-click on the link, then click on "Save target as" (assuming you use IE) and save the file in some appropriate directory on your hard disk. Then go off-line and open Acrobat Reader in the normal way, then open the file you just downloaded. Hope that helps David in Hertford, England Canal interests: BAXTER (Leigh area, also anywhere near the Bridgewater Canal in Lancashire or Cheshire) I use old reference books reproduced on CD from www.archivecdbooks.org to help with my research ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda" <Linda.Briggs1@btinternet.com> To: <CANAL-PEOPLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 28, 2002 11:35 AM Subject: [CANAL-PEOPLE] PDF files > Hello everyone, > Could someone please help me to open PDF files from internet sites.
