Thank you to the people who sent me information and suggestions for research. Thanks to Norman Holt's lists it looks as though my families could have been working in the area of the "Stourport Ring". That's something I can investigate. Perhaps I should look at Census along that route. Your replies have been mainly for the name BOURNE. The only positive reference I have for that name is the marriage of Phebe BOURNE to David ALLPORT 8 Apl 1833 at St Thomas Ch, Dudley,Worcs. witnesses Thomas Allen & Zach Brooks. Taking Phebe's age from the 1881 Census I'd say that she was born c 1810 at Wordsley. David was born 1811 Mount Pleasant, Kingswinford,Staffs. For David ALLPORT & Phebe and their baby son David (b. Dec 1840) I am looking for an entries on the 1841 & 1861 Census. Many of their family were at the Dingle, Kingswinford, Staffs. but these were obviously on board. Can anyone help please? Regards Pat
