Hi Gill, Thanks for putting on this URL. John Green was my gran`s brother, and was the last of many generations to work on the canals. My gran also worked on the canal boats prior to her marriage. I first saw some info on John on "The Friends of Lancashire" web page in December - by David Kitching (which reminds me - I owe David an email re John Greens family!). I hadn`t seen these other pages - so thanks a lot! Most of the boats were named after his immediate family.
