Hi everybody, May I say how pleased I am to find the Canal list. It's a very special subject which probably contributed very much to the migration of our ancestors and the consequent brick walls in searching for them. Myself, I am interested in finding out more about the LAPWORTH and FLOWERS families. They were related. They both operated out of Nuneaton, Warks from the 1840s to about 1930 but due to the nature of the occupation may have spread, though I suspect more that the men may have imported wives to Nuneaton. I believe that the LAPWORTHs had their own barges. Is there an index somewhere where barge owners and their routes, types of cargo etc. are listed? Or am I being too optimistic? If any of you stumble across either of these names I should be very grateful if you would let me know. Geoff in Helsinki
