    3. Hi Janet, I had a look for any references to CORBETT and PRESCOTT, but regret not a single mention of either. It certainly is a "Miscellany" - bits and pieces of various censuses, records, recollections, etc. (I only found one person I was interested in). Personally I found John Roberts at the Inland Waterway Index a great source of information, I was in touch with him four years ago. I believe details on contacting him were on the List recently. Keep Looking! Regards, Elaine > Please could I possibly come in with a request for a lookup if you are >not too flooded with them. 2. Phil Lamb
    3. Hello Jackie My few are a bit earlier than yours. Samuel SALT and Sarah had two children William b 1856 Upper Green Tipton and Elizabeth b 1861 also at Upper Green Tipton. On both of these birth certs Sarah is shown as formerly BRIDGES. Samuel died in 1864 and Sarah married into my LAMB line in 1867. On the marraige cert it states that her father is William BRIDGES, boatman. At the time of the 1861 census, the SALTs are living in Castle Street Tipton. Sarah is aged 27 (so born in 1834) and the census return shows her birthplace as Worcestershire Oldbury. Tracking Sarah back to Oldbury I found her in the 1841 census with her family as - In Low Town Anna BRIDGINS aged 35 Sarah ~//~ aged 6 Ann ~//~ aged 2 Sarah TATE aged 70 (YATE ?) all born in county Dad must be away somewhere. Sarah TATE might be Anna BRIDGINS mother. Baptism register at Christ Church Oldbury shows - June 14, 1835. Sarah dau of William and Ann BRIDGENS, of Oldbury. Occ - Boatman. I don't know if there were any male children or if William had any brothers. Nor do I know if the name BRIDGES is very common, or if the spelling variants are common. Thats about as much as I can tell you. I have been pursuing a different name for the last few years, that of TRUSS, also boatees. I got a bit mixed up with the Mrs coming from just North of Worcester, that was another line - sorry. Phil in Hales Owen
