George Opelliantic was born in Austria and had a daughter Helen in 1886 who was born in Austria. She met her husband, Joseph Balardo, in Canada, married him in 1910 and moved to the United States (Michigan). I have been unable to locate anyone anywhere with this last name. Any ideas would be helpful.
ANTIC is a central European name. French is spoken in many parts of Canada. Is it possible there has been a misunderstanding, and that someone said, in French, " ..... called ANTIC ....." which would be "...appellé ANTIC...." which sounds very like OPELLIANTIC? Certainly, I have never heard of OPELLIANTIC, and more significantly neither has Ancestry or FamilySearch (LDS). Good luck!
