Also, if he emigrated in 1880, he would have been 20 years old, which means he didn't end up in a children's home in Canada, unless the 1880 date means the date he came from Canada, and not England. However, I cannot find a Thompson/Rudland marriage in England. Also, in the 1861 and 1871 English census, there is no Henry with parents Robert and Ann born in 1860.
