I am guessing that the 1880 or 1890 is the year he came to the US. Supposedly he left England when he was 12 so that would have been 1872-3. On the 1930 census I found that he lists 1872 as his immigration date. I have another question that I don't know if anyone here would know. I was just told that Henry had started to apply for citizenship to the US, but never finished the process. Is there somewhere to look for these records? Apparently he started the process, but they had a house fire in 1925 and the papers were destroyed and he didn't want to spend the money on getting replacement papers to continue the process.
