Hi everyone: We just had our family reunion on Aug 16th and it went well. No discord. Unfortunately, the two people I was hoping to see were not there due to illness. I wanted to ask them some questions about their parents. Anyway, I gave everyone a copy of their genealogy as far as it went and it was a big hit. Now I have a question. I was given some pictures of my grandparents and both of them are in military uniform. But the person who gave them to me was not sure what war that would have been or what kind of uniform it is. The pictures are just photocopies so the detail is not clear. The grandparents - George Speck was born in 1878 and Laura Speck was born in 1887. It probably was WW1? They were living in Niagara Falls and so maybe they were protecting the St. Lawrence Seaway. Just a guess because my aunt was in the military also in WW2 and that is what she did. So the question is: how do I find out what branch and what they did? And is it worthwhile to try and find this info - will it take me any further in finding out anything - or will it just be for color? I look forward to hearing from you guys. Thank you.
