Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/7aB.2ACEAE/965.1 Message Board Post: Hello Bill: School is now in! NEVER try to trace roots in Quebec with a simple name. Believe me, I've tried! I think you will find it easier to print out the following. That was lesson one, now onto number two. I know you have been here before, but go to: http://www.familysearch.org This will bring you to the site of Latter Day Saints. Right? Now, on the top beside the word home, click on SEARCH. On the left side click INTERNATIONAL GENEALOGICAL INDEX. Are you still with me Bill? Now it gets harder but trust me and pay attention, because I ask questions at the end. Enter only the following: First Name: LIBOIRE Last Name: PELOQUIN-CREDIT Father: CALIXTE Last Name: PELOQUIN-CREDIT Mother: MARIE Last Name: COLLETTE Event: BIRTH/CHRISTENING Year Range: + or - 2 years Year: 1869 Region: NORTH AMERICA Country: CANADA Province: QUEBEC CLICK SEARCH. OK, what did you get? I'm not saying this is your Fred, but anything is possible. If you had a handle like this, would you not drop the first half and only use the Credit? Could also be a relative! How reliable is the information about your Fred's birth? I mean date and place. If you are sure he was born in Trois-Rivieres, 1869, keep hunting. But you will have a longer name then Credit as you can see. Also use Alfred. If you think this is your Fred on the International Index, then someone has already researched the family I believe. **Note** I believe if you enter only the LAST NAMES, you will find more Peloquin-Credit, some in Trois-Rivieres. OK, school is out for now. Don't forget to report in as to your findings so I can grade you!!! Ciao for now. Sandy
