His paternal line is RONDOT and his maternal line is DUMORE. His grandmother on the maternal line was Viola MILLER. All these people lived in Queens County, New York. We know the DUMORE family lived in Jamaica, Queens, NY and the RONDOT family most likely did too. The known time period is from about 1964 to the present. The RONDOT line also lived in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada and Moffans, Haute Soane, France. My husband's maternal grandfather was Anthony Thomas DUMORE, a tinsmith. His maternal grandmother was Viola MILLER. His paternal grandfather was Lucien Charles RONDOT. His father, who died in the mid 1970s (Vietnam), had the same name. RONDOT INFO: Claude Francios RONDOT b. abt 1847 Moffans, Haute-Soane, France d. bfr 1901 & Elodie RACENET b. abt 1847 Moffans, Haute-Soane, France | Joseph Auguste Georges RONDOT | b. 11 Mar 1867, Moffans, France | Marie Josephine RONDOT | b. 22 Sep 1868, Frotey les Lure, France | Augustine Rosalie RONDOT | b. 25 Dec 1871, Frotey les Lure, France | Lucien Charles RONDOT | b. 25 Nov 1881, Moffans, Haute-Soane, France | & Lillian | b. 18 Mar 1890 | d. The homeland of Claude Francios' father, (name unknown) was said to be in Essex, Ontario, Canada. RE: CLaude's father Charles Claude's father was a fur trader and buffalo hunter who worked in the western central area of North America, including the Fort Union area of Montana. The father was a French-Canadian of French and Cheyenne descent who married an aboriginal woman of the Blackfoot Nation. (This could be Blood or Pigean tribe, among others.) We believe his first name, or at least one of his names, was Charles or Claude. During the trading days, the family may have maintained a residence in the Red River area or central Montana -- or both. This family MIGHT be related to the family of Claude Francios Rondot, born 17 Jan 1795 in Val De Gouhenans Athesans, Haute-Saone, France, and died 20 Aug 1855 in Perry Township, Allen County, Indiana. A Elodie (RACENET) RONDOT, arrived via Ellis Island: Name: Rondot, Elodie Ethnicity: France Place of Residence: - Date of arrival: May 16, 1892 age: 50y gender: M marital status: - Ship of Travel: La Gascogne Port of departure: Le Havre, Seine-Inferior, France She was accompanied by Charles: Name: Rondot, Charles Ethnicity: France Place of Residence: - Date of arrival: May 16, 1892 age: 8y gender: M marital status: - Ship of Travel: La Gascogne Port of departure: Le Havre, Seine-Inferior, France and Joseph: Name: Rondot, Joseph Ethnicity: France Place of Residence: - Date of arrival: May 16, 1892 age: 25y gender: F marital status: - Ship of Travel: La Gascogne Port of departure: Le Havre, Seine-Inferior, France Any and all information on these people is needed. The "DUMORE" surname is quite rare, and the surname RONDOT is almost as rare so info on these surnames, regardless of geographical origin would be very much appreciated. There is a RONDOT line that came from France, to Canada, to Indiana and we believe there is a family connection, but this has not yet been proven. Thank you for your help. Carolyne Gould-Rondot
