    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Gaulin and Beaupre Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/7aB.2ACEAE/1056.1.1 Message Board Post: Barbara, Thank you for your response. I have been on the National Archives website and was think of visiting myself. My wife and I travel quite frequently through Ottawa-Hull from Glens Falls, NY. We have a small cottage on Lac Bois Franc, near Maniwaki. Do you know where it is? In fact, we will be travelling through this Saturday on our way up to close the cottage. I would love to stop at the archives this weekend, but I have too much work to do to close up the cottage. I may make a separate trip up however. Are the archives hard to find off rt 417? Anyway, I am doing geneology research on both my father's line (Gaulin) and my wife's father's line (Beaupre). This is what I know about the Beaupre side: So far I have been able to trace back to Joseph Beaupre b. 1/1/1859 and his wife Josephine Beaupre b. 10/5/1858 who lived in Hemmingford, QC as of the 1901 Canadian Census. (Huntington District #156, subdistrict Hemmingford, #2, page 8) They lived with their 7 children Dealie, Joseph Jr., Napolean, Reiah, Samuel, David & Evoin. I am looking for a marriage certificate for Joseph and Josephine. I don't know Josephine's maiden name or the year they were married. The youngest child was 10 years old at the time so they may have married around 1890-1891. The Gaulin line has given me more problems. This much I know Joseph Gaulin b. 1855? and Phoebe Gaulin (Messier) b. 1853? lived in Sandy Hill, Washington County NY as of the 1900 US Census. Everything before that is unclear. They did immigrate separately and must have married somewhere in New York State. Joseph immigrated in 1868 (13 yrs old)and Phoebe immigrated in 1873 (20 yrs old). Joseph probably came with his parents, but Phoebe may have immigrated alone. We don't know. Possibly birth certificates for both of them would give information about their parents. I have been unsuccessful trying to find a marraige certificate. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the information on the National Archives.
