I just found out this summer that I might have a William SMITH as part of my extended KERR / HENDERSON family tree in Quebec Province. They came to Argenteuil County in ~1824, and my line moved to Compton County before heading to Massachusetts in the 1870's and 1890's. The only sibling I am missing is Hannah "Jane" KERR who might have been the wife of William SMITH in Compton County in the 1881 Census. It listed them as having a son, Henry SMITH, Age 2. I haven't found them anywhere else. So, I am curious if they also came down to New England. I also do a lot of research in Maine because of my KIDDER research. And, I think you would have more luck posting queries about the Mi'kmaq Indians on the Maine Boards and Lists. There was a large population of "Native Americans" along the ME / NB border .. this is especially after they were "moved out of" MA. I
