In an earlier post I said that the Darchy surname could have been a corruption of the surname Haché. I checked the marriage repertoire for that area of the Cote-Nord, but did NOT find a family of that name there, which means they could have come from somewhere else, and just "settled" in that town. I did find two ACHEZ sisters married to two DUGUAY brothers who lived in that town. Both sisters, Marie & Elisabeth married in May of 1895 at Rivière-au-Tonnerre to Edouard and Joseph Duguay, respectively. Could it have been one of them who wrote the letter? I would be very interested to learn in what city/town Heather purchased the photos, as that would tell me something as well. Many of these families could have migrated to New England. There is also a Farcy family living there, but they were originally from the Magdalen Islands, but I doubt sincerely if it is this family, as I know practically every descendant from t! here. The letter definitely states her name as "Darchy", so I will take another look later on and see what I can find. Till later, Dennis
